Channel 17-62, known as The Channel of Acceptance, connects the Ajna Center to the Throat Center, creating a flow of energy that moves from the Ajna downward to the Throat for expression. If you have this full channel, you are among the 51% of the population with a defined Ajna. This channel is part of the Collective Logic/Understanding Circuitry, which means it's logical energy (not abstract). This channel is the gift of logical and scientific thinking, designed to be shared and communicated with others in a way that fosters understanding.
Someone who has gate 17 in their conscious Sun (black side) with a personal destiny profile (1/3, 1/4, 2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6, 4/6) gives you the Right Angle Cross of Service. Therefore, Ra says, “the basis of the 17th gate is service in this life.”
The Gifts of Gate 17 in a Defined Ajna Center
Gate 17 is the logical awareness gate in the Ajna Center, and it’s the capacity to mentally process information, see a pattern, organize it, and formulate an opinion. Your mind has an excellent recognition of patterns, structures, and framework, and the ability to provide structure and organization to abstract ideas.
This way of thinking can offer new perspectives that inspire understanding and growth. Ra says, you form logical opinions in order to be of service to the collective.
Because gate 63, the gate of Doubt, is part of this same logical circuitry and streams down from the Head Center, this mental energy of gate 17 needs to organize a solution to your doubts into a workable concept so you can express it to others. Once that happens, your mind is able to provide clear and logical opinions based on observation and analysis.
Opinions require a logical basis in order for them to be understood, and also for them to withstand scrutiny and criticism. Note – this doesn’t mean the facts are actually correct. This is about theoretical opinions used for the formation of concepts and about being able to organize systems and structures.
Gate 17 is the gate of the right eye, which sees clearly in the Now. It sees the details and knows how to project them into the future as patterns. If you’re interested in learning more about the nutrition and health aspects of gate 17, read here for more information.
With a defined Ajna Center, it’s easy for you to be certain, and especially certain about your opinions. In fact, often times you may find yourself selling certainty. ie: "I worked my way up the corporate ladder to the top. Let me tell you how you can climb the ladder, so you can be certain too."
The Low Expressions of Gate 17
Rigid or overly critical opinions.
Sharing your opinions in the wrong timing, or without an invitation, leading to resistance.
To share opinions that degrade options.
To embrace opinions as truth and act on them.
Difficulty accepting differing viewpoints.
To create personal and collective narratives that are negative and filled with doubt.
Your challenge or life lesson with gate 17 is to #1: learn to share your opinions and your thoughts about possibilities only when people ask for them, and #2: to not let doubt and suspicion keep you from seeing the potential of positive outcomes.
The Gifts of Gate 62 in a Defined Throat
This gate of Detail, aka: Preponderance of the Small, is located in the Throat Center. This Scientist archetype is designed to translate, name, label, and communicate the information and vision patterns from gate 17, and manifest the details through your words. It makes concepts tangible, meaningful, and understandable so concepts and opinions can be repeated and tested over time.
The voice of gate 62 says, "I think" or "I don't think." It’s responsible for the creation of language, giving meaning to what we see and experience. The quality of your opinion is always dependent on how well you grasp the facts.
The Low Expression of Gate 62
Overemphasis on details at the expense of the bigger picture.
Difficulty communicating effectively when overwhelmed or stressed.
Criticism for being “too pedantic” or “too focused on facts.”
Key Traits of the Channel 17-62
A Natural Organizer: Your mind is here to provide essential information to all of us in an organized way. This is a mind that’s like a meticulous filing cabinet, constantly taking in new information, sorting it, and organizing it to make sense. If information is missing, you feel a strong need to ask clarifying questions as you try to piece together all the data to make sense of it. You won't be able to share your opinion about the information until you have all the data you need to formulate an opinion.
Teacher and Communicator: You have a knack for presenting complex mental concepts, facts, and figures in a clear and organized way, making you a gifted teacher. You excel at teaching, communicating, explaining, and organizing people and events.
Sharing What You Learned: In the highest expression, it's impactful to share what you think about what you've researched. Your ability to research and analyze allows you to share opinions that are well-grounded in data. In your highest expression, your opinions help improve collective understanding and foster growth.
The Challenge of Waiting for the Invitation
As a projected channel, the 17-62 operates most effectively when you wait for an invitation to share your opinion about what you think. Timing is everything. When you share your opinions without an invitation, you risk resistance or even repelling others. However, when your insights are invited, they are far more likely to be well-received and impactful.
My Personal Experience with the Channel of Acceptance
I have the Channel of Acceptance, and it's the energy that defines my Ajna Center. I don't have any other hanging gates from my Ajna, so all my mental energy flows through this channel to be expressed by my voice. It feels like my thought processes and insights are consistently shaped by this channel.
In my career as a registered dietitian, this channel has been an invaluable asset. For instance, when I work with clients, they share daily pictures of what they eat and drink over 30 days. I’m able to identify patterns and trends quite easily within the first few days, and by the end of one month, the overarching themes are obvious. I relate to my brain feeling like a filing cabinet – it’s as though I mentally collect and organize data, while I wait for new, similar pieces to connect the dots. This process allows me to uncover insights that might go otherwise unnoticed. **I’ll add that I have quad right variables, so my mind is receptive and is capable of taking in a large amount of information. This definitely helps with the pattern recognition.
Another aspect of this channel’s energy is my ability to sort through and analyze a lot of data, like a scientist conducting research. The intention is to come to a conclusion about what I've researched to formulate an opinion. I find myself often forming hypotheses and then I collect data to support the hypothesis or not.
This analytical approach is wonderful to use when I write blogs. I’m able to take a bunch of data that has no structure, organize it, and present it in a way that’s clear and actionable for others. Some example of blogs titles I might write using this gift of organizing information are: “Top 5 nutrients for brain health” “My 5 biggest lessons from human design” or “My 10 favorite ways to use human design when parenting a Projector.”
One of the most transformative aspects of understanding this channel has been learning that it’s a projected energy. I am much more conscious about when and how I share my opinion, both in person and on social media. More often than not, I just bite my tongue and wait to be invited rather than offer unsolicited opinions, which has helped my personal growth. Practicing discernment has saved me so much stress, and helped me avoid unintentionally repelling others, especially those who have an undefined Ajna center who may find it overwhelming to process my strong thoughts.
With this channel, there’s a more aligned way to incorporate my opinions, and it has helped me step into the gift of this channel. After I do my research and formulate a well-rounded perspective, I then share what I think about it. For example, with a blog titled, “Top 5 nutrients for brain health” I would give all the 1-line data (4/1 profile) and then state what my opinion is about these nutrients, especially if I have experience using them. This shift has allowed my insights to land more effectively with the people who are ready and willing to receive them.
Living in the Flow of the Channel of Acceptance
If you have this channel, I am putting words to energy that is felt. To start to embody this channel, the work is starting to observe how this energy shows up in your real daily life, whether in the gift or the low expression.
Do you have The Channel of Acceptance 17-62? What has been your experience with opinions and their impact on people? I would love to hear how this gift shows up in your life.
Human Design Appointments
Moving from where you are now to where you want to be requires long-term dedication to learning and experimenting with your human design. I've learned so much through the process of researching, observing myself and others, experimenting, and repeating that cycle over and over.
I believe real growth takes more than one appointment, which is why I offer an initial appointment (90 minutes) with a follow-up appointment (60 minutes).
If you think a one time appointment is more ideal for you, I also offer that option.
Much love,
Kelly
